Who is this guide for?Anyone signed in to the terminal.
Before you begin
- A cash drawer is open on this terminal. If it isn't, the sell screen shows No drawer open — open one, and the terminal asks you to open one before it takes cash.
Take cash
On the terminal
- Tap Charge on the sell screen.
- If the terminal shows Amount due, tap the amount the customer gave you under Cash tendered, such as Exact $12.46 or $20.00. Tapping Cash takes the exact amount.
- If your shop has a cash price, the terminal asks How would you like to pay? first. Tap Cash. It shows the lower cash price and what the customer saves.
- On How much did they give you?, tap the note the customer handed you. For any other amount, tap Other amount and type it.
- Check the change line. It shows Change and the amount, or Not enough yet if the amount is too low.
- Tap Take payment. The drawer opens.
- Give the customer the amount under Change due, then choose a receipt.
Good to know
- The terminal never asks for a tip on a cash payment.
- Cash works without an internet connection. The sale is saved on the terminal and sent later.
- If your shop has no cash drawer set up, the terminal takes the cash without opening a drawer.
