Delete your account

Remove your Surge sign-in and personal details, from the Surge app or by email.

Who is this guide for?Any person with a Surge account. Deleting in the app is for owners, since only owners can sign in to it. Everyone else uses email.

What's deleted and what's kept

Deleting your account removes you, not the business.

  • Deleted: your sign-in and password; your name, email address and phone number; your sign-in on every phone.
  • Kept by the business: sales, tax and payment records it's required to keep. Your name is taken off them.
  • Deleting can't be undone.

Delete in the Surge app

On the Surge app
  1. Open Surge and sign in.
  2. Tap the round button with your business's initials at the top right. Account opens.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Read what will happen, then type your Password.
  5. Tap Delete my account. You're signed out and back at the sign-in screen.

If you're the only owner

A business can't be left without an owner. If you're its only owner, the app refuses and names the business. Make someone else an owner first: open their profile on the Team page and turn on Owns this business. Or email Surge and ask us to close the business.

Delete by email

Email info@surgeups.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. We handle email requests within 30 days.

The back office has no delete button. If an admin removes you from a business with Remove from team, your account is deleted only when that was your only business.
Closing a whole business isn't something you can do yourself. Contact Surge support. Email info@surgeups.com.
