About sales tax
You can charge up to 3 taxes at once, for example a state rate, a city rate and a special district. On Surge Free you can charge one tax. Surge Plus and Surge Premium charge up to 3. Rates can have up to 3 decimal places, so 8.875% is exact.
A new percentage tax applies to every item, including items you add later. Until you add one, every sale rings up with no tax.
A tax can also be a fixed amount per item, for example $0.50 on each one. A fixed tax starts on no item: you tick the items it covers.

At the terminal, tap a tax in Taxes to change it, or tap Stop charging this.
Tax included in the price
Whether tax is added on top or already in the price is set at the terminal only, with Already in the price. The back office doesn't show this setting.
