Who is this guide for?Anyone with a manager code, on the terminal.
Before you begin
- Kitchen printers are part of Surge Plus and Surge Premium. On Surge Free the Kitchen printers switch shows Needs Surge Plus.
- The printer is on the same network as the terminal.
- The terminal's own receipt printer needs no setup and isn't listed here.
Add a kitchen printer
On the terminal
- Open Settings > Kitchen printers and screens and enter a manager code.
- If you see Printers and Screens tabs, stay on Printers. Tap Add a printer.
- Type a Name, such as Grill.
- Under Printer address, type the printer's address, such as 192.168.1.50. Double-click the Pairing button on the back of the printer to print its address.
- Leave Port as 9100 unless your printer uses another, and pick the Paper width: 80 mm or 58 mm.
- Tap Test print to check it works.
- Under Categories it takes, tick the categories this printer prints, or switch on Every category.
- Tap Create.
Change or remove a printer
Tap the printer in the list, change what you need and tap Save. To take it away, tap Remove this printer.
Give the printer a fixed address in its settings or on your router. A printer that changes address stops getting tickets.
