The morning summary

A notification each morning with yesterday's net sales, number of sales and top item.

Who is this guide for?Business owners signed in to the Surge app, with notifications allowed.

What it says

One notification per location, for example:

  • Title: Juniper Goods — yesterday
  • Text: $1,146.80 net sales · 43 sales · Top: Cedar candle
  • Each location is its own business in Surge, so with two shops you get one summary from each, titled with that shop's name.
  • The top item is included on Surge Plus and Surge Premium.

When it arrives

  • At 8:00 AM in your shop's time zone.
  • It covers the business day that ended at 4:00 AM, so a sale at 1:30 AM counts in the night before.
  • No sales that day means no notification. You won't get one for days you're closed.

Turn it on or off

The app asks to send notifications when you sign in. Allow it to get the summary. There's no switch inside the app. To stop it, turn notifications off for Surge in your phone's settings.

Offline card declined

The app also tells you when a card taken while the terminal was offline is later declined by the bank. The notification is titled Offline card declined and names the sale, the amount and the card. That sale hasn't been paid. Tap the notification to open it.

Not getting it? Check that notifications for Surge are allowed in your phone's settings, and that you're signed in to the app on that phone.
