Before you begin
- Modifiers is turned on under Store setup > Features, in What you sell. The terminal only offers modifiers when it's on.
- Modifiers are part of Surge Plus and Surge Premium. On Surge Free the switch shows Needs Surge Plus.
Modifiers and options
Modifiers are picked at the sale and can add to or take off the price. Options, like Size, are different: each option value makes its own variation with its own price. See Create an item for options.
Create a modifier set
On the back office
- Go to Store setup > Items and click Modifier sets on the left.
- Type a name under New modifier set, for example Milk.
- Tick The customer must choose if the item can't be sold without a pick.
- Tick They can pick more than one if several are allowed.
- Click Add modifier set.
- Click Edit beside the set. Type a Modifier name and a Price change in dollars, then click Add modifier. Use a minus sign for one that takes money off.
- Add each modifier the same way.
Add a modifier set to an item
On the back office
- Open the item and find the Modifier sets card.
- Tick the set. You can change Must choose at least and Up to for this item.
- Under Comes with, pick any modifiers that should be selected already.
- Click Save.
Give a modifier a picture
In Modifier sets, click the + tile beside a modifier and choose a picture. Modifier pictures show on the self-order kiosk.
You can also tick modifier sets while you create a new item, before you save it.
In an import file, a Modifier Set - [name] column set to Y offers that set on the item. The set must already exist.
