Name a terminal
On the back office
- Go to Store setup > Devices.
- In the Fleet list, open the menu at the end of the terminal's row.
- Choose Rename….
- Type a name, up to 40 characters, and click Save. Leave it blank to go back to its Surge name.
Replace a terminal
Unpair the old terminal first. That frees its license for the new one.
On the back office
- In the Fleet list, open the menu at the end of the old terminal's row.
- Choose Unpair…, then Unpair.
- Pair the new terminal with the code on its screen.
Suspend, unpair or retire
- Suspend stops the terminal for now. Activate brings it back. It keeps its license.
- Unpair… stops it working here until it's paired again with the new code on its screen. Use it before reinstalling the app or moving it to another location. It frees the license.
- Retire… destroys its pairing for good. It can't be brought back from the back office; someone has to set it up again on site. It frees the license.
Retired terminals leave the list. Click Show and the number of retired devices to see them.
