About categories
Categories group items into tabs on the terminal. Without any, items still sell in one long list.
Categories are part of the item menu, which is part of Surge Plus and Surge Premium.
Add a category
On the back office
- Go to Store setup > Items.
- On the left, click Categories.
- Type a name under New category, for example Drinks.
- Click Add category.
Put an item in a category
Open the item, choose the Category under Details, and click Save. At the terminal, tap Select category when you create the item.
Importing a file with a category name that doesn't exist yet creates that category for you.
