Find a sale and export sales to CSV

Search your sales by number or card, and download them as a spreadsheet file.

Who is this guide for?Admins and Finance can export. Viewers can search and read sales but can't export.

Find a sale

On the back office
  1. Click Reports in the menu. Sales is the first report.
  2. Pick Today, 7 days, 30 days or Dates.
  3. In Transactions, type the sale number or the last 4 digits of the card into the search box.
  4. Read the row: Date, Order Number, Item, Sale Type, Employee, Customer and Total. A refund shows under the total of the sale it reverses.

Export sales

On the back office
  1. On the Sales report, pick the period.
  2. Click Export CSV. The button shows Preparing… while the file is built.
  3. Open the downloaded CSV in a spreadsheet. The file name includes the first and last day, for example sales-2026-09-01-to-2026-09-30.csv.

Other dates and other reports

Click Dates and pick the First day and Last day for any other range. The dates you pick stay the same as you switch between reports.

On the back office
  1. Click Reports in the menu.
  2. Choose Refunds, Tips, Voids or Batches.
  3. Click Dates and pick the first and last day.
  4. Click Export CSV.
Days run from 4:00 AM to 4:00 AM, so a sale just after midnight is in the previous day's export.
The sales file has every sale in the range, not only the ones on screen.
Exports are part of Surge Plus and Surge Premium.
To give a customer a receipt for a past sale, use Reports on the terminal: tap the sale, then Email receipt or Text receipt. See "Print, email or skip a receipt".
If you need a Viewer to export, an Admin can change their role to Finance under Team. For anything else, contact Surge support. Email info@surgeups.com.
