See the day's totals and close the card batch

Check what came in today on the terminal, print the totals, and send the day's card payments to the bank.

Who is this guide for?Managers and owners, or anyone allowed to see reports and close the batch.

Before you begin

  • The terminal has a built-in card reader. Card batches are closed on the terminal.

See today's totals

On the terminal
  1. Tap Reports in the bottom bar, then Today.
  2. The Summary tab shows what was collected, by cash and card, and refunds.
  3. To print the totals, tap Print.

Close the card batch

Closing the batch sends the card payments taken so far to the bank. Cards taken after you close go in the next batch.

On the terminal
  1. Tap Reports in the bottom bar, then the Batches tab.
  2. Tap Close batch.
  3. Tap Close batch again to confirm, or Cancel.
  4. Wait for Batch closed, then tap Done.

If you don't see these

  • Without permission to see reports, the terminal shows only Receipts and Tips. Tap All reports and a manager enters their code.
  • Nothing to close means no card money was taken in the period. No open batch means there's nothing waiting to send.
Count and close the cash drawer as well at the end of the day. See "Open and close the cash drawer".
If a card payment ends with no answer from the bank, check the batch before charging the card again. See "Card declined or no answer from the bank".
