Who is this guide for?Anyone with a manager code at the terminal. Owners and Admins in the back office.
Before you begin
- Counting is turned on for the item.
How stock changes
Stock goes down when a sale is completed, not when an item is added to the cart. Everything else is an adjustment, and every adjustment is saved with a reason.
Adjust stock
- Go to Store setup > Stock.
- Click Adjust on the item's row.
- Under What happened, choose A delivery came in, I counted the shelf or Thrown away or broken.
- Type How many. For a recount, type How many are there and Surge works out the difference.
- Add a Note if you like.
- Click Save, or Save count for a recount.
- Tap Inventory and tap the item. Enter a manager code when asked.
- Tap Count stock.
- Choose Delivery, Thrown away or Recount.
- Type the number. The screen shows what the count will be after you save.
- Add a note if you like, such as a delivery note number.
- Tap Save.
Move stock to another shop
If your shops are linked into one business, use the Transfers card on the Stock page. See Move stock between linked shops.
See what happened
In the back office, click Moves on an item's row to see each change: when, what happened, who did it, and by how much. Sales, returns, deliveries, recounts, waste and transfers all show here.
If you use vendors, A delivery came in also asks Delivered by. To receive a whole purchase order at once, use Receive delivery on the order.
